What I Wore: Sunday Morning Church

Hello there, lovelies! Thank you for checking in with me! Today is November 28th, and while I'm sure we all had a fantastic time with all of our family and friends this Thanksgiving, as we came together to enjoy good food and good company, taking a small portion of time out of our busy lives to count our blessings, unfortunately, it's all over. Yep, the pumpkin pie went by in a blink of an eye. (Say that five times fast!) But, one thing that I'm sure we all can agree is most definitely not unfortunate, is what comes next. That's right, it's time to whip out the decorations, put up that tree and get with the holiday cheer...It's Christmas time!

I'm one of those people who dreams of the holiday season all year long, it's such a wonderful time where you can almost feel the magic in the air. The lights, the smells, the feels. It all manages to fill my heart with pure joy. So, the moment I have the opportunity, I dress for the occasion. And I thought I would share with you an outfit I wore to church recently, as I was more than ready to greet the most wonderful time of the year, and give it a warm welcome with this pop of red.

For this outfit, I paired a simple white and black blouse with a bold red coat. Then, I wore my favorite pair of dark wash jeggings with my black signature booties, which I wear with almost every outfit. Lastly, we tied it all together with gold accessories in my beautiful necklace and purity ring. Everything really screamed Christmas "semi-casual" in my mind.

In my last "what I wore" post, I featured an outfit I put together for Thanksgiving dinner which included items that I had picked up from multiple thrift stores. If you haven't gotten the chance to read the post, you can have a look right here. But this outfit is no different.

- The blouse I bought from Goodwill.

- Jacket and jeans came from a local consignment shop my mom works for.

- The necklace and shoes were purchased online. With the black booties on clearance from Rue21.com, and the necklace came from none other than, Charlotte Russe.

- My purity ring was given to me by my mother as a gift, and it can be found at Lifeway Christian bookstore.

I was incredibly thrilled with how this outfit came together and I honestly could see myself wearing it again several times up until Christmas! Before I leave you be for the day, I did want to say a quick thank you to those of you who have shown me, and this new blog an overwhelming amount of support. We are off to an amazing start and I am so happy to be sharing my life with all of you.

With that being said, thank you all for reading. Have a very happy and blessed day, until next time!

What I Wore: Thanksgiving Dinner

Hello there, lovelies! Thank you for checking in with me! Today is November 24th, just a day after Thanksgiving, and I hope that you all had a wonderful time with your friends and family. This Thanksgiving was one of the best I've had in my life. Holidays aren't always easy, so when something like this goes smooth, it goes up higher on my list of favorites. For the second year in a row, my mother and I headed up the street to my grandmother's house for dinner where we were joined by my brother and his wife.

This year I decided I wanted to purchase a nice sweater to wear for the occasion. But, being that it's the holiday season and money is tight, I also decided on going to Goodwill to search for one. I first started off with a cream-colored knit sweater and a dark wash pair of skinny jeans. With that, I added a long necklace which definitely added some fall/thanksgiving vibes. Lastly, I tied the whole outfit together with my nude wedges for a nice cozy attire.

Each item with the exception of the shoes came from Goodwill and other local thrift stores.

- The sweater is American Eagle brand which I purchased from Goodwill at $5.99, while I couldn't find this exact sweater on their online store anymore, sweaters like this usually range anywhere from $40-$50 dollars according to their website.

- The necklace was bought from Goodwill at the same price of $5.99

- Then the jeans came from a local thrift at $3.00

- The shoes I bought on clearance at Charlotte Russe for just $9.99, what a steal, right?

In the end, this beautiful holiday outfit ended up coming together at a total of $24.97! Not too shabby!

I truly do enjoy thrift shopping and hunting for deals, and if you haven't ever done either of those things, I strongly encourage you to give them a try. It's a lot of fun and a good challenge. But most importantly, it's a great money saver. The perfect solution for any young adult, or someone who is just hoping to look fashionable on a budget.

With that being said, thank you for taking a moment out of your day to spend some time with me! Thank you for reading, and have a very happy and blessed day!

Welcome!

The Official Launch!

Hello there lovelies! Thank you for checking in with me! Today is November 23rd, Thanksgiving Day. Though it is also, the official launch of this here new blog, "When The Wild Things Grow" I am beyond excited to be sharing this experience with all of you and I would like to personally welcome you to the beginning of a new journey!

Ever since finishing out high school about four years back, I have spent a lot of my time jumping from dream to dream as I've tried figuring out what it is I would like to do with my life, and what my passions are. But for the most part, I've been pretty lost...That is until earlier this year. After trying out multiple different hobbies and even job opportunities, some of which you can read about here, I had come to the realization that more than anything, I have a real love for writing. It's something that has always interested me. In life, it's so hard to achieve the things you'd like. But when it comes to writing, you have the ability to make anything happen, and there's something so magical about that.

With my passion for writing, I very much enjoy sharing my personal experiences with others. Such as life lessons I've learned, struggles with anxiety and transitioning into a full-fledged adulthood as well as stories of my learning disability and growing self-improvement. I like to share these things because I have always felt that there is a positive in every situation. And by sharing those positives with others, I hope that it may help those dealing with similar situations. But along with that, I love sharing stories of the good things in life, my blessings. I am a Christian, and every day I am working on becoming a better person through Christ and building the relationship with God that I desire to have. I love talking about my family, I'm a very proud dog mom to my little Maltese-Pekingese mix, Posey Mae. And I have a very deep love for fashion, food, television and all things mocha and mocha flavored. ☕️

I am beyond excited about this new experience and cannot wait to start sharing all of my life with you! I hope that you'll stick around for the ride!
